550 Madison and the Museum of the City of New York partnered to debut Above Ground Midtown: MCNY x DAZE at 550 Madison, featuring two large-scale murals by acclaimed New York City artist Chris “DAZE” Ellis. Created onsite in the building’s 55th Street retail space, with 60-foot ceilings and windows on three sides, the completed works draw from the energy of the surrounding cityscape and The 550 Garden. 

The exhibition builds on MCNY’s Above Ground: Art from the Martin Wong Graffiti Collection and highlights 550 Madison’s role as a dynamic site for creative partnerships and cultural engagement in East Midtown. The collaboration with MCNY and Daze also highlights the distinct elements and creative potential of the 55th Street retail space, which is currently available for lease.
