Olayan Group welcomes trio of food & beverage brands to new public garden

The Olayan Group has signed up three local food and beverage brands to operate the retail kiosks within the new, half-acre public garden at 550 Madison Avenue, the landmarked office building located between East 55th and 56th streets in Midtown Manhattan.

The new public garden at Philip Johnson’s 550 Madison Avenue building opened this week, the final component of the postmodern landmark’s renovation led by the Olayan Group. Designed by Snøhetta, the lush privately-owned public space (POPS) is located adjacent to 550 Madison in a formerly enclosed mid-block passageway.

Corsair Capital Snags 24k SF at 550 Madison

Investment firm Corsair Capital signed a 23,919-square-foot lease at 550 Madison Avenue, Commercial Observer has learned. Corsair signed a 15-year lease for space in Olayan Group’s 41-story building between East 55th and East 56th streets, according to the landlord, in a relocation from 717 Fifth Avenue.

A gorgeous new public park is opening in NYC this fall

International architecture, landscape and interior design firm Snøhetta is opening a new public park in midtown this fall, taking over a space at 550 Madison Avenue between 55th and 56th Streets “with a glass canopy that gives [it] an indoor-outdoor feel,” reports NBC New York. It’s a green oasis inside of a very New York-like building, in-between two skyscrapers.
